Why do full moons affect pets? my cat goes nuts when it's a full moon. Is it because of hunting?

Yes they can see and instinct takes over. Some humans can see very well in dim light and it is hard to sleep when there is so much around to do. when you or they cannot see, what can you do. Most animals can't see as well in the dark as you think. Not much better than some humans after getting accustomed to the dark. I was raised on a farm in Indiana and we didn;t have electricity. I learned to see indim light very well, but nothing can se in total dark. Not just pets, but all living creatures.. affects the ocean.. tides.. people.. I dont know, and have heard dozens of theories. but only theories.

Hunting is a good theory, the light from the moon changes the odds with most preditors (many preditors are nocternal) All the sudden when its bright out, the prey can see them coming better... It affects gravity.. Birth cycles..(not my expertese) There are even some religions that are based on the moon.


I guess the factual reason is sort of a mystery..
Full moon does not affect only animals, humans also, I don't what the reason is but is a well known fact, police. mental institutions, hospitals are having more problems full moon days yhan any other day od the month, However I have 3 dogs and 3 cats and 2 big birds, none of them has ever been affected by that phenomen, but I live a very peacefull life, and there is no stress or conflicts at home, only peace and love, no loud and enerving music, soft and relax only,
