Wrap something around the dogs mouth so it wont bite you. Then place your feet on the trap lever on each side and press down both at the same time and the jaws will open to get him out.
Ignore the thumbs down I have been a trapper for over 40 years. You can use your hand to depress the trap spring lever but it better to use your feet so your hands are free to help remove the dogs foot and to hold the jaws open.
Iwillmock.... you are wrong, the trap pan has already been pressed and now does nothing. The pan is held by the metal arm that catches on it when its set. Now that the trap went off the pan does nothing now.How to release a hunting trap....not sure what kind?
pull it apart as quickly as you can
Smells fishy to me...
Push the flaps on the side downward. Be careful not to spring the trap on your fingers by depressing the center-plate.
The flaps on the side release it, but when you push them down, be careful not to just let go or it could shut on you and it will hurt. Take them back up slowly until they stop moving and you are good to go.
pull it open why is your dog in it
So THATS what they are callin' them things nowadays.....doooogs....hehe, I get it!
You know, necropyrobestialism is so early 90's.
Those 'wings` on the edges of the trap are pressed down to open the jaws.
You might have to step on them to get enough force.
Take the dog to the Vet.
