Coyote hunting in ohio,whats the prefered rifle or shotgun of choice? .22, or 1100 20ga.?

is it legal to hunt coyote in ohio with a tree stand? and is a .22 okay for hunting coyote, and is a 20 gauge with a coyote choke in it good for hunting coyotes? and the best time for hunting coyote? and do u need a lisense?Coyote hunting in ohio,whats the prefered rifle or shotgun of choice? .22, or 1100 20ga.?
The .22 is too small. It will not humanely put the animal down. There is a chance if you hit the animal it wont die immediately and run off to have a slow painful death. Thats not cool. The 20 gauge shotgun on the other hand will quickly put it down but it has its problems also. Coyote's are very wary animals. Shotguns are not long distance shooters so you have to get close to the animal to get a good clean shot. Thats easier said than done.... By the time he gets close enought he may smell your scent or sense your movement and be off running..... You would be better off using a rifle chambered in .223, .243 or 22-250. why would you hunt coyotes? do you eat coyotes?


use whatever gun that will kill it the fastest and least painful
