I need a new hunting rifle ?

I have 450 to spend on a good hunting rifle, scope, mounts, and gun. I know its not a lot but its gunna have to work. Im left handed so some stocks dont really fit me right. I am really looking into a 308 or something in the smaller calibers no magnums. Someone please throw me some ideas.I need a new hunting rifle ?
Being left handed limits your choices a bit..... Try to cough up another $150 and purchase a Remington 700 SPS Varmint... They have one thats chambered in .308 thats a left handed model......

The .308 Cartridge is an excellent choice..... Its well suited for deer, wild hogs as well as target shooting..... The ammo can be had in bulk quite cheap!

your choice should be the remington model 770 452$ msrp comes with mounted and bore sighted 3/9/32 power scope will shoot 11/2 groups at one hundred yards depending on ammo and scope set up gun is capable of sub moa accuracy has reccesed muzzle crown for rifling protection weighs in at 71/2 puonds and 42 inches long 60 degree bolt throw recoil pad 22 inch button rifled barrel i have shoot and shouldered on feel nice trigger pull is about 4lbs but is good for most shooters blued black stock i am buying one in 7mm/08 bolt is also has the companys 3 rings of steel reciver inputed into gun for utmost accuracy you should really look into buying it
Check out the savage lineup for left hand models; darn good quality and long service. If you want to have a little fun in life do what I did; bought a Mosin-Nagant 91/30 ($ 63.99)(just like new) and several cases of ammo. It is fun to shoot and very accurate; bought several boxes of S%26amp;B sporting ammo for hunting; it is about like a 30-06 shell that is rimmed. The rifle is virtually indestructible and functions under all conditions; and with cheap surplus ammo you can plink and have fun any time.
Get a single shot H%26amp;R. You can get it in just about any caliber for around 300$ then add in a Nikon prostaff 3-9X40 for 150$ and you are right at your 450$ price range. The HR is a single shot so it should not matter what hand you shoot. Plus you can buy other barrels in other calibers for pretty cheap. This will allow you to later on buy a different caliber without having to spend a bunch of money. I have a HR 45-70 which is legal in my state for primitive weapons season. When my son gets old enough I am going to buy him a 243 barrel for that same gun. OR look in the Tradewinds Magazine for a used Remington, Browning, or Savage. You are going to have a hard time finding a lefty though.
Check Academy Sports for several deals on that price range. Most all the bolt action guns they offer come in .308. Mossberg has a great new one, and Savage has several.
Big 5 got a special on Marlin 30.06 with scope and a special for a Savage 30.06 with a scope, but no accutrigger on it. Both under $500 with scope.
Savage 110 or 111. You can get it with a scope package for just under 400.

Check local gun stores for used guns.
Marlin XL7 is sub-MOA out of the box. +- $300. That leaves $150 for glass, rings, and a box of ammo.
yes be sure to call around for the left hand ok savage,,is good ok thanks eddie
Savage with a scope. See the link. I would get the 7mm-08
