Question about switch blade for hunting? PLease help me.?

So me and my dad were planning on going hunting this weekend and i wanted to know, if my dad bought a switch blade, does he have to fill out paperwork before buying it? Does my dad have to fill out paperwork if we buy the switchblade at Big 5? The 10 dollar kind.Question about switch blade for hunting? PLease help me.?
Switchblade laws very state by state. There are several companies that sell switchblades, Microtech, Benchmade, M.O.D. (Masters of Defense), Boker and depending on your state laws the buying, possessing, carrying and use of switchblade knives are regulated. Some states have less stringent laws than others. They are NOT Illegal. Do a search on google for your state and it's laws concerning switchblades to find your answer or talk to local law enforcement. They don't sell $10 switchblades at Big 5. If you saw a knife there you wanted, then yes your dad can buy it for you. It's just not called a switchblade.

Sounds more like an assisted action knife, not a true SB. I personaly do not like these knivies for hunting, get a nice fixed blade with a good belly on it aid in skinning...
Why would you want a switchblade on a hunting trip ?





Not knocking switchblades [ much ] ... but there's a variety of knife made for hunting : a HUNTING knife.





The reason being that if you're carving a stick, most any knife will do, but if you're carving a rear quarter off a deer you want something that can be strong enough without folding onto your fingers.





The only advantage of a switchblade is conceal-ability: in the woods, who cares ?

Besides, carrying one Hunting is hardly an excuse as there is no legitimate/legal reason to carry such a weapon while legitimately hunting..

Real switchblade knives are illegal to possess in the US. If you're talking about a spring-assisted knife, they are regulated same as any other folding knife. There is no paperwork required to buy a knife.
