Whats better for black bear hunting 35. rem or 7mm wsm and which grain bullets would you use thanks?

200 grain 35 remington. That gun is seriously good black bear medicine. It is like a 30-30 but blasts larger holes. It is also relatively light recoiling. The round is normally chambered in light, fast handling carbines, intended for hunting in thick brush. Black bear hunting tends to be a relatively short range affair.

Now, the 7mm WSM is a fine cartridge for long range shooting of deer and elk, but the 35 remington is a much better choice for bear hunting.

I'd go with a 200 grain bullet by a reputable maker like this one right here

That is some serious black bear medicine. Don't be fooled by the ft-lbs figure, that always favors lightweight fast bullets. Momentum is another good predictor of terminal performance, and this load has it in spadesWhats better for black bear hunting 35. rem or 7mm wsm and which grain bullets would you use thanks?
either one is a great round for two different reasons, first the 35 rem is great in heavy brush out to about 60 yards thats why they call it a brush buster.second the 7mm mag is a great belted round for a couple of reasons first being it will have plenty of knock down power for really any north american big game and second it is a great flat shooting round with 165gr to 175gr bullets out to about 290 yards also I think the point blank range is 360 yards for the heavy 175gr bullet which is more than far enough to make a clean and humane kill. I have taken bear with both of these rounds at the distances above with no problems. It comes down to a matter of choice as to which way you want to go and where you will hunt, heavy forest or open fields.Whats better for black bear hunting 35. rem or 7mm wsm and which grain bullets would you use thanks?
The 35 Remington is the Best choice according to the Winchester Product Ballistics Service Manuel for 2008 they recommend you use the 200 grain Power- Point Bullet.* Maximum effective range of the 35 remington is 200 yards.* Muzzle velocity is 2,050 Ft per sec.*..Recoil energy is 13.5.*..
i would go with the 7mm wsm . the 35 rem is just a little more powerful than a 30-30 , and for bear hunting i would want a more powerful gun.

stick with the 7mm wsm or a 30-06 .
if I had to trust my life to one of them, it would be the 7mm, It would give you a better penetration to more of the vitals.
180 grain out of 7mm and i think shaun j should go **** himself then go **** peta while he is at it i relie on hunting or survival abd its people like him who will have that right taken
Is black bear hunting legal?

Better check your state laws.
