I'm from Ohio and would love to buy hunting land out west (or even Canada). Has anyone done this?

what do you want to hunt? there are 640 acres in a square mile and that is not a lot of land in Wyo or Montana because mule deer, elk and antelope usually run away from trouble and do not circle back like whitetails. there are very nice whitetail racks shot out west every year and whitetails are everywhere but you would probably want 160-320 acres with a stream. then you might have to plant trees %26amp; shrubs which could take 10 years to mature- and in this high desert country the deer will eat 90% of all trees you plant the first winter after you plant them. feed crops in the low, wet areas would attract deer to your area also. pheasants need food %26amp; cover and they have a tendency to fly over to the neighbors when you shoot at them.I'm from Ohio and would love to buy hunting land out west (or even Canada). I know several people that have bought land out of state to have access to better hunting-some out west, one bought land in Arkansas and a couple more bought land in Mississippi. They either built them a hunting camp on the land or had a portable building placed on it. They could then take vacations in the fall and hunt there and take their families there on vacation during the summer. It's an excellent idea if you desire to do so.I'm from Ohio and would love to buy hunting land out west (or even Canada). Has anyone done this?
Why buy when there are millions of acres out west that belong to you. BLM, National Forrest lands all open to you.
well yeah...
