about how far is bow range finders off compared the gun range finderBow hunting range finder compared to rifle range finder?
No it's not worth it. If it comes as a feature, then dandy. The 'bow' features adjusts your distance by adjusting for the angle it's being aimed and removes the extra yardage. All you need to do with a normal range finder is stand at the base of your tree stand and range out to your expected target areas. Just find the range of different landmarks and shoot to that distance.
So if you know that from your stand to a bunch of trees is 30 yards horizontal, shoot your 30 yard pin even though it may show as 40 once you're up in the stand.Bow hunting range finder compared to rifle range finder?
The bow range finder I have was no where near the 300 dollar price. I think I spent all of thirty bucks. It's good out to 80 yds way beyond the range of where I would take a shot at. Now my binoculars are good out to 1500yds and cost my ex a bundle (anniversery gift) around six hundred at the time if I had to chose and price was no object I would get the high end rifle/binocular range finder it would cover both close/long range uses and why carry both afield?

Well the longest shot I have ever taken at a deer with a bow was 30 yards. I can guess the range pretty accurately between 0 and 30 and I bet you can also. The deer need to be close to get a shot while bow hunting, so being still is important. Fumbling with a range finder at close yards in my opinion is not a good idea.
my dad has cheapo rifle range finder, i have a bushnell legend 1200 for bow hunting. they are exactly the same except mine displays the angle. the bow rangefinder goes to well over 500 yards too!?!? (the longest ive tried, it may go farther). so, if its worth $300 to know the angle, get it. personally i dont like/use the feature...
I am like Deer hunter.......fumbling with those may scare off the deer. You should be able to judge 10-30yds if you practice....if not already. Many times when I have shot a deer I had about 1sec before he ran away when he was close enough for a clear shot. The angle thing makes very little difference.
my fiance says he wouldnt spend 300 dollars for the bow feature. he says youre better off spendin the money on a hand held one.
