What is snipe hunting and have you ever been.?

snipe hunting isnt real its something they do to drunk people to make them look stupid. it usually happens at night and they give you a flash and a bag tell you the ';snipe'; will follow the beam of light from the flashlight right into te bag while you yell snipeWhat is snipe hunting and have you ever been.?
The first answer is right.A group will usually talk a few people into going along for the ride and letting them hold the bag.When the people that are pulling the prank tell them to wait in the woods holding the bags open.They will walk around and drive the snipe to the bag holders.Instead these people usually go back out of the woods and leave the others standing there looking foolish.It's a fun prank to pull on someone at night.I pulled it on a few people when I was a teenager.What is snipe hunting and have you ever been.?
snipe hunting while a scam to leave someone in the woods in some areas is a very real sport,in Arkansas for example we have a snipe season,a snipe is a small very fast bird found on the edge of cover near water that tastes like a dove but is very hard to hit.
Kinda like a water melon roast.
We always engage in snipe hunting here in the philippines, especially here in our province ****** occidental. There are a lot of ways to hunt snipe, after harvest of sugarcane, we usually burn residues for faster cultivation of the next crop. a day after burning, about 4pm up to sundown, you can sit down with your 22LR and scope, must have good camo for the birds to come back. Another way is the shotgun, startle the birds, when they fly in every direction, the fun really starts. Just being careful not to shoot your buddy...
Snipe hunting was once real, and those with the skill to shoot the small birds were called ';snipers.';

So you know where that term comes from.

By now it's mostly a joke, though.
Snipe hunting is when bums go hunting for partially smoked cigarettes in ashtrays.
Snipe is a type of bird

Some snipe species have been hunted for food and sport since the invention of the shotgun. They can be extremely difficult targets, confounding even very skilled hunters with their erratic flight, their unexpected flushes, their excellent natural camouflage and the treacherous and difficult terrain they typically inhabit.

The elusive nature of the snipe is well-known among hunters. In the days of market hunting, the most skilled hunters of all would often bring many Common Snipe to market earning the moniker ';sniper'; as a badge of respect for the difficulty in shooting this amazing little bird. The term has evolved into the modern usage sniper, referring to a skilled antipersonnel sharpshooter.

Pretty Cool huh
A snipe is a small bird along the lines of a woodcock that resides in the swampy forest bottoms in the east. Yes, they are real, and yes, there is also a trick played on unsuspecting city folk that goes by the same name. We have a season for them in Va that runs into the early spring when they migrate North. You can look them up in any orinthology book if you think I'm making all this up. As for snipers being named after Snipe, false. I was a sniper for 6 years in the Marine Corps and that's not where the name came from.
